# Connecting Twilio

### Twilio - What It Does

Phone infrastructure for call funnels:

- Provides phone numbers
- Handles call routing
- SMS capabilities
- Call recording
- Global coverage

### Connection Options

Funneler offers two Twilio modes:

**Mode 1: Use Funneler's Twilio (Recommended)**

- Easiest setup
- No Twilio account needed
- Funneler manages everything
- Numbers available in 60+ countries

**Mode 2: Bring Your Own Twilio**

- Use your existing Twilio account
- Access to your Twilio console
- Custom configurations

### Mode 1: Platform Numbers (Simple)

**How to Get a Number:**

1. Go to your **Call Funnel**
2. Navigate to **"Phone Number"** section
3. Click **"Get a Number"**
4. Select your country
5. Choose area code/region
6. Browse available numbers
7. Click **"Claim Number"**
8. Number activates instantly

**No API keys needed!** Everything is managed automatically.

**Releasing a number:**

1. Open call funnel
2. Go to **"Phone Number"**
3. Click **"Release Number"**
4. Confirm release

### Mode 2: Your Own Twilio Account (Only Available on Agency Plan)

**Step 1: Get Twilio Credentials**

1. Sign up at [twilio.com](https://twilio.com)
2. Go to Twilio Console
3. Note your:

- **Account SID** (starts with AC…)
- **Auth Token** (click to reveal)

**Step 2: Add to Funneler**

1. Go to **Integrations** in Funneler
2. Find **"Twilio"**
3. Click **"Connect Your Account"**
4. Enter:

- **Account SID**
- **Auth Token**

1. Click **"Verify & Save"**

**Step 3: Import Number**

Make sure number is in your Twilio account

1. Go to call funnel
2. Click **"Use Existing Number"**
3. Select from your Twilio numbers
4. Click **"Configure"**

**Step 4: Verify Connection**

1. Make a test call to your number
2. AI agent should answer
3. Check call appears in funnel analytics

### Twilio Status Monitoring

Check connection health:

1. Go to **Integrations**
2. View Twilio status:

- ✅ Connected and working
- ⚠️ Credentials expired - need update
- ❌ Connection failed - check credentials

**Troubleshooting connection issues:**

1. Verify Account SID is correct
2. Regenerate Auth Token in Twilio
3. Update credentials in Funneler
4. Check Twilio account is active
5. Ensure sufficient Twilio balance
