Managing Contact Groups
**Groups help you stay organized.** Instead of scrolling through hundreds of contacts, segment them into named lists and act on them as a unit — for follow-ups, outbound calling, or team workflows.
## 📦 What are Contact Groups?
Contact Groups let you organize leads into reusable lists inside the **Contacts and Leads** page.
Use groups to:
– 🎯 Segment contacts by campaign, funnel, lifecycle stage, location, or priority
– ⚡ Add multiple contacts to the same working list in one action
– 📞 Launch outbound calling workflows for a saved group
– 🗂 Keep contacts organized without deleting or duplicating lead records
—
## 🔍 Where to Find It
Open **Contacts and Leads** from the left sidebar.
At the top of the page you will see two tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|—|—|
| **All Leads** | Manage individual contacts |
| **Groups** | Create, review, rename, and manage saved groups |
—
## 🆕 Create Your First Group
1. Open the **Groups** tab.
2. Click **+ New group**.
3. Enter a group name.
4. Click **Save**.
Your new group appears in the Groups table. Each row shows:
| Column | Description |

—

## 👁 View Group Members
To open a group’s member list:
1. Go to the **Groups** tab.
2. Find the group you want.
3. Click **Members**.
This opens the group member details page, where you can:
– 🔎 Search within that group
– 📋 Open any contact’s detail view
– 🗑 Remove one contact from the group
– 🗑 Remove multiple contacts from the group at once
## 🗑 Remove Contacts From a Group
⚠️ Removing a contact from a group does **not** delete the contact from your CRM. Contacts always stay in **All Leads**.
### Remove one contact
1. Open the group using **Members**.
2. Click the 🗑 trash icon next to the contact.
3. Confirm removal.
### Remove multiple contacts at once
1. Open the group using **Members**.
2. ☑️ Select the contacts you want to remove.
3. Click **Delete (n)**.
4. Confirm removal.
## ✏️ Rename a Group
You can rename any group inline without leaving the Groups tab.
1. Open the **Groups** tab.
2. Click the ✏️ pencil icon beside the group name.
3. Edit the name in the inline input.
4. Click the ✅ check icon or press **Enter** to save.
> ⛔ If another group already uses the same name, the system will block the rename and show an error.
—
## 🗑 Delete a Group
⚠️ Deleting a group removes the group itself, but **does not delete any contacts inside it**.
1. Open the **Groups** tab.
2. Click the 🗑 trash icon on the group row.
3. Confirm deletion.
After deletion:
– ✅ The group is removed
– ✅ The contacts remain available in **All Leads**
– ✅ The contacts can still be added to other groups later

💡 Best Practices
**🏷 Use clear names**
Choose names that describe the purpose of the list, such as `Facebook Leads – March`, `Warm Prospects`, or `High Priority Follow-Up`.
**🎯 Keep groups focused**
Smaller, purpose-driven groups are easier to search, review, and use in outbound workflows.
**♻️ Remove from group instead of deleting contacts**
If a contact no longer belongs in a segment, remove it from the group rather than deleting the CRM record.
**📞 Build groups before outbound calling**
If you plan to call a list of contacts, build the group first so you can reuse it later and track results per segment.

❓ Common Questions
**Does deleting a group delete my contacts?**
🟢 No. Deleting a group only removes the group. Your contacts stay in **All Leads**.
**Can one contact belong to more than one group?**
🟢 Yes. A contact can be part of multiple groups at the same time.
**Can I create a group while adding contacts?**
🟢 Yes. The **Add to group** flow lets you create a new group and assign selected contacts in the same step.
**Can I remove several contacts from a group at once?**
🟢 Yes. Open the group, select the contacts, and use the bulk **Delete (n)** action.
**Why can’t I save a group with a name that already exists?**
🔴 Group names must be unique within your account to avoid duplicate lists with the same label.
